We thoroughly enjoyed returning to Astley Hall to bring the history alive with characters from the hall’s past. We were entertained by The Tapestry Music as they serenade visitors and introduced us to an array of interesting instruments through the ages, they were also accompanied by hopeful actors of Lord Strange’s Players as they attempted to audition for Shakespeare, though not with great success.
On Sunday we were introduced to some of the hall’s past occupants and visitors, from Isabelle Charnock, the first lady of Astley, to Samuel Blackshaw, the butler of the Hall’s last, Lady Hoghton. All in glorious weather and making new friends. Checkout some of the pictures of what we got up to by following us on Facebook and Twitter @TheatreByNumber |
