Hope & Story is a project developing the skills of people in recovery, in order for them to get their messages of hope out there, by sharing their personal stories of experience and encouragement to others.
We are therefore looking to bring together a group of people with personal experience of mental health issues/difficulties who now see themselves as “Living in Recovery” who are wanting to get their story out to help others. Assisting us in this project is the Chorley based community interest company Theatre By Numbers, who have been developing and delivering live performance for the past 10 years; creating approaches and techniques that unlock the story potential of those they work with. They work in close collaboration with community groups to encourage exploration of the arts. Hope & Story will use a selection of artistic approaches to develop, create and present individual stories including music, art and performance. These stories have the additional potential of being presented to a wider range of people and organisations to give hope to others with the positive message that recovery is both possible and real, whilst at the same time breaking down the stigma associated with mental health issues/difficulties.
